All cast iron kitchen materials must be “seasoned” with grease so that they can’t rust.
Please be aware that “pre-seasoned” grills or grill grates pose a kashrus problem since we cannot know what grease was used to season the grill (i.e. oil, lard, etc). This grill is listed as “seasoned and ready to use.”
(Disclaimer – I am not a rabbinical kashrus source, but I have heard this discussed in the past.)
