Long Live The 3BM…

Applied last night for my latest round of churning (The Platinum charge card, the Premier Rewards Gold charge card, and the Delta Gold card, you’ll probably need to clear your cache+cookies or browse incognito/in-private to see those offers) and went to the status checker this morning to find them all approved even without having to call reconsideration.  Not bad for a single credit pull thanks to the good ole’ 3BM with IE, Firefox, and Chrome!  With these on top of my existing Starwood Consumer and Starwood Business cards I’m just waiting for the next Gift Chain/Twitter/Facebook/Foursquare/Small Business promotion to come along!

    Dan,
    Are you getting the signup bonuses for the Platinum and Premium Rewards Gold cards? How many times can you get them, and how long do you have to have a closed card before getting the bonus again with Amex?

    Wow nice job! I did a 3BM two nights ago with Amex but only got one auto approval. I called about the other two and was told they were put on hold because I applied for 3 cards at once. I also used Firefox, Chrome, and IE. He explained that they sometimes put a hold on multiple apps to ensure that the person really wanted to apply for more than one card and didn’t accidentally send the same app twice. So I told him I really wanted to apply for 3 cards and he sent the remaining two to the application consideration department. Let’s hope it works out!

    Is the 3BM an a/a risk with Chase? I understand transferring UR points and having too much credit MAY be a trigger, but what about Churning and 3BM’s?

    @Dan fan:
    By applying in 3 browsers and clicking apply on all 3 as close to each other as possible.

    @Yet another Dan:
    The Platinum and Premier Gold cards can be done as many times as you want. There isn’t a time limit, but if you do it too soon (within 30 days or so) you are going to need to have them purge your recent applications so that it can process as a new application.

    @Hudi:
    It’s been a while since I’ve had a Delta card.

    @BEM684:
    Thanks and good luck!

    @powerball:
    Having too much credit compared to your stated income can be a risk, but I do 3BMs all the time (and have 10 currently active Chase cards and now 5 currently active AMEX cards in addition to many other active cards) and haven’t run into any issues to date, ba”h.

    What were the signup bonuses for the three cards you signed up for? I looked at these three cards on amex website and for the delta they are offering 10000 and for the other two there is no signup bonus showing on the offer at all.

    If you have any links showing better offers please post them.

    Thank you.

    I need your advice. I recently sent a payment through Amazon, not realizing that the recipient had already received $1000 for the month. The payment went through on my end successfully, my card was charged, and the recipient never received anything. Is it better to call Amazon about the problem or do I just dispute the charges through Chase?

    Or if there is another way to get more points from them.

    I know it “Doesn’t make sense” but I rechecked it a few times. The recipient already had received $1000 for the month. For some reason Amazon let through another $500 (above the $1000) to that recipient. If I look at my records for that day it shows a transaction on Amazon & on my Chase account, but it does not show up in the recipient’s account. Should I call myself or let Chase take it up with Amazon?

    Personally I use points for flying, though others do sell them.
    Churnable means the ability to get the signup bonus again on the same card.

    @Pyrate Baruch:
    Consider what you get for the $450 on top of the bonus points:
    -$400 of airline gift cards.
    -Platinum card lounge access.
    -Priority Pass lounge access.
    -Waived Global Entry fee.
    -No forex fees.
    -Starwood Gold status.
    -Lost item insurance.

    Plus of course you can cancel within 60 days for a full refund or anytime after for a prorated $37.50/month refund.

    Unless I am missing something, its really not worth it to spend 450 for the other stuff.
