I ordered 2 coffees and 2 teas. The coffees had symbols but the teas did not. I called OK and they said they do not do the teas. I assume that means that they can not be used. Does anyone know anything about this?

I had some technical trouble placing my order and called their customer service. This offer is NOT a Gevalia offer; it’s a third party offer for Gevalia products, which is still valid. However, customer service did not/could not help me (my screen had frozen during the order and I couldn’t get out).

In the end, I opened another window, saw my cart with the coffee and coffeemaker and proceeded to checkout. That time it worked.

i ordered the coffee maker and when i opened the box, the glass kettle was cracked, so i called up gevalia and since this deal is from a 3rd party offer, they refunded but i had to start again to get another coffee maker-so i ordered another one and the same thing happened, i received a cracked kettle, so i called them again and this time they sent me another one without me ordering again.. so now i have 3 coffee makers (2 with cracked kettles, but that’s ok since its easy to just buy another kettle..) and 8 boxes of coffee for just $9.99!!!!!

A coffee maker is NOT allowed to be placed on timer. It’s assur to mivashel (cook) with a timer. It’s no different than setting a timer for shabbos day to warm up soup – it’s 100% assur. You can make freshly brewed coffee on shabbos by using the cone cups and filter. (Be careful how to dispose of the filter though – you can’t sqeeze..) And make sure while pouring water through the filter to use a kli shlishi.

I also could not get past the free gift. It doesn’t even show the free gift. Help?

I ordered lsat week on wednesday, it shipped thursday and i cancelled the auto delivery yesterday, and just reordered the whole package again wtih no issue. I even signed into my account in case they would claim that I wasn’t being honest, and it all went through smoothly.

Just noticed that the regular prices for coffee all have decaf at about 80 cents more per package – that’s a very good sign as higher quality beans are needed to make decaf if you want to maintain the quality as the decaffination process takes something out of the beans…(see the good eats episode on coffee for more details, yay alton brown!!)

I put in an order about one hour ago and it went through. I just checked the order detail and it shows all four coffees but under the coffee maker it says “cancelled” in parenthesis.

It seems like the coffeemaker special has ended and the 10 dollars is now only good for the four coffees (which happens to be an excellent deal in it of its self).

@borrer, It’s not considered borrer. There’s a gemara in Mesechta Shabbos that talks about a similar process using wine sediment and running water through it to extract it’s taste via a cloth. It’s mutur.

@Yoily, so far, I think I like Creme Berlee the best!

Are you sure that we poskin like that opinion in the gemara? Are you basing your opinion that its mutur solely on that gemara because I have been told the only way to make coffee on shabbos is either instant or watering down an extremely strongly brewed coffee with hot water in a kli shlishi.

@YG: I ordered on the same day that Dan posted the update that the offer was about to be pulled. They shipped the boxes of coffee and charged my credit card $9.99, but the status shown next to the coffeemaker was “cancelled”. However, I did not contact them at all. A few weeks passed and then they placed a new order for a coffeemaker for $0 and shipped it to me. It might be a different model, because they apparently sold out the model that they originally intended to include with this offer.
