You always write about the warranty extension with a starwood card. I don’t have one of those. How is it different than the warranty extension the amex blue cash card offers?

The warranty should be the same for all AMEX issued cards, but the points you earn from Starwood are worth a whole lot more than what your blue cash is giving you!
I just called Dell and ask them to match this price with the free 24″ screen and they did!!!
