    Is there a way of measuring up this kitchen-aid to a bosch? How many pounds of flour (for challah) can this one hold?

    I see KitchenAids on sale at Macy’s all the time – is this a better than normal sale? Also, this is the best KitchenAid model, correct?

    @DMI: @DMI: I use this one to make Challah. It cant’ really handle five lbs-I use it for approx. 3.

    My wife uses 5 pounds of flour to make Challah every week in her 6 quart Professional Kitchenaid without any problems.

    @arie:
    Sure it is, Amazon even checks off the right model for you on the rebate form!
    It’s the KP26M1(X) where X refers to the various colors that are all eligible.

    @Marco:
    Usually the 5 quart kitchenaid is on sale there, this is a much more powerful model than that one.
    And this is even cheaper than the advertise the 5 quart model for!

    Buying as a gift for my wife. I have no idea which color she’d prefer, so I’m gonna go with the silver. Should she want a different color, how complicated would it be to exchange?

    @dan:
    Kp26m1 stands for the model number. (X) is not part of the model number and means whatever color. In this case its (psl) silver or (pgc) gloss cinamon. Did I get it right? Also can you give us a little better instructions how to get the 24? Do you need to write a request along with the rebate form? Or just send it plain.

    They say a bosch is best for dough for challah if you make a full 5LB ( to make bracha on hafroshas challa) which is very thick. Kitchen aid is best for cakes etc. We have both.

    I really appreciate this!! My mixer is over 20 years old and I’ve been wanting to replace it, and I’m so grateful that I can get such a great model for less than I thought I’d have to pay to replace my 4.5 quart mixer! Yasher Koach and keep up the good work!

    I would just write Amazon.com and your home city.
    Amazon is not an auction site. eBay is an auction site.

    Just bought the red one and I really really hope this thing can handle 5 pounds of bread. That is the main thing we need this for and way too many reviewers pointed out the issue handling bread.

    @DMI: This mixer CAN NOT hold 5 pds of flour for Challah believe I know what I am talking about I own 3 of these. You have to figure 3 1/2 cups of flour per pound of flour. If you try & make 5pds of flour in this mixer you will burn out the motor been there done that
