    Any ideas for a plan that doesn’t need $100 a year on it to keep the number? I need something for two weeks a year when we come in from overseas for the Kinusim, but in the past I had to keep adding $100 each year, but only used $2 a day, so approx $30 a year. Any other options out there?

    A quad band phone will work perfectly.

    @wond4er:
    Sound like you may be better off buying a new prepaid phone every year. Google Voice can forward a number to any other number for free, so you would still have a single number you can give people that won’t ever expire.

    Dan, I bought an f160 AT&T go phone to use in israel, but not only would AT&T not unlock it, but I tried to buy unlock codes on two different sites, they took my order but later responded that they were unable to unlock and would refund my money. I’m in israel now and really want to use the phone, and have no other purpose for it. Any ideas? Thanks.

    @Dvora:
    You can unlock it for 10 Euro with this program: http://www.dc-unlocker.com/forum/showthread.php?t=3723
    Multiple people on the forums had success unlocking the f160 with that program.

    Or AT&T will be releasing the unlock codes for the f160 in November for free if you want to wait.

    to Wond4er: Get a t-mobile prepaid. After you have put a total of $100 on it (does not have to be all at once), you become a “gold” member. Thereafter, every time you refill it for any amount, it extends the phone number and time on the phone a year. You could put $10/year and keep it active.
