Credit Card Profile #7-Delta Consumer And Business Amex
This Post Completes The Reviews Of The Fall 2006 Credit Card Roundup. I Hope That You’ve Enjoyed It!
Delta Consumer Amex
Delta Business Amex
I ranked the Delta card as follows in the following categories:
Best Credit Cards To Use And Spend To Earn Miles: #8 and #9.
Best Credit Cards To Have For Miscellaneous Benefits: Business-#10, Consumer-Unranked.
Best Credit Cards To Churn: Unranked.
Credit Cards Good For A One-Time Bonus: #1 and #2.
Key facts:
-Signup Bonus: Business: 15,000 Miles, Consumer: 17,500 Miles.
-Annual fee: Business and Consumer-Free for first year, $85 subsequent years.
-Signup Bonus Earned: After first purchase.
-Maximum points that can be earned in 1 year from spending: Unlimited.
Maximum Number Of Times The Signup Bonus Can Be Earned: One Consumer bonus and one business bonus.
Minimum Wait Time Between Applying For The Consumer And Business Card: None, you can apply for both on the same day.
Amex Open Savings For The Business Card:Get a 5% Cash rebate in addition to miles for spending with ATT, Fedex, Hertz, various other stores/chains/hotels and all Delta tickets, get a 3% cash rebate in addition to points for spending with Jetblue.
Double Miles For The Consumer Card: Double miles for spening at Stand-alone supermarkets, Gas stations, Drugstores, Home improvement stores, The U.S. Postal Service, wireless service providers.
Reason for the being ranked #8 and #9 in “Cards To Use And Spend To Earn Miles” category :
If you want Delta miles you’re generally better off having a Starwood Amex and getting 1.25 miles per dollar spent.
However if you want 5% off Delta tickets you should use the business card and when you spend on categories that offer double miles you should use the consumer card!
Reasons for the business card being ranked #10 in “Miscellaneous Benefits” category:
-Business card offered a 5% cash rebate in addition to the Delta miles earned on purchasing the ticket.
-Consumer card has no unique benefits.
Reason for being unranked in the “best credit cards to churn” category:
-Bonus can only be earned once per card type.
Reason for being #1 and #2 in the “Credit Cards Good For A One-Time Bonus” category:
-It’s a strong signup bonus that can only be earned once.
Summary:
The Business card is an absolute must-have for all Delta flyers to get the 5% cash rebate in addition to the Delta miles earned on purchasing the ticket.
The Consumer card offers a nice signup bonus and double miles offers.

$773 At Amazon may be as good as you’re going to get for now…
I’m sure you can find for a few dollars less, but it’s worth a few dollar premium to have amazons free shipping+return policy…

Annual fee: Business and Consumer-Free for first year, $85 subsequent years.
I think if you have an AMEX rewards card also, its only 35 a year.

Glumech, don’t be stingy. If that 50,000 offer is still available, let us know where to find it.
