I had one that was redeemed and when I called they waited on the phone while I purchased it then credited me back the 20%

I call before I place the order and explain that I have an expired promotional code. They usually just put a 10 Dollar credit on the account.

It was during the promotion and I had bought a magazine and tried the code but it said it was redeemed so I called them up and before explainig them the whole thing they just said sorry for having trouble and if you make the purchase now I’ll take off the 20%
