PLEASE NOTE:

I HAVE BOUGHT A FEW SIGNATURE SUITS FROM JOS. A BANK AND THEY ALL HAVE SHATNEZ IN THE COLLAR WHICH CAN BE REMOVED. DAN PLEASE NOTE THIS IN LISTING.

Dan

@mb:
What about their executive suits?

Visitor

Thanks MB, I was going to ask.
How much does the shatnez removal run?

moishe

What about their executive suits?

yitzi

I Recently Purchased A Suit From Thier Signature Line And It Had Shatnez In The Collar. The Shatnez Is Usually Removed By A Shatnez Checker/Rov. The One In My Area Charges $30 And My Local Tailor Charges $45 To Put In A New One. So Please Everybody Dont Forget To Cheshbon This Into The Price.

Dan

@yitzi:
That sounds very expensive.
I had a Banana Republic suit and paid $15 to remove the shatnez and $20 to a tailor to put in a new one.

These days all suits must be tested for shatnez as there’s a good chance it will have some. From what I’ve read it seems that Jos A Bank executive suits don’t usually have shatnez, but YMMV.

Josh

I believe I’ve heard that Jos A Bank suits made in Mexico have shatnez.

What is shatnez?

I only have 3 suits i got tailored in Bangkok so this may be a dumb question.

@mbi
Shatnez is the biblical prohibition against mixing wool and linen. It came directly from G-d. Very important to check all suits for it.

@dan
I live in Miami and we have an amazing shatnez check, Rav Blank, big chosid, he checked my uncles Armani suit and it was so laden with shatnez that it cost over $300 to remove and fix portions removed. It can get pricey based on how imbedded it is. Still worth it as my uncle got the suit at Sawgrass for $299!!!

@everyone
Shatnez is again a big problem as almost everyone now puts it into there suit, it is no longer the high end or low end only. Please get your suits checked and good shabbas.

mb

@Dan: I don’t think they have shatnez but not sure.

@Visitor: $50
