If you have The Enhanced Business Platinum CardĀ® from American Express OPENĀ you can get a 50% rebate on the airline of your choice.Ā 

You can switch airlines by chatting with AMEX, though it will be easier to switch before you have used the $200 airline spending credit that year.

This benefit is being reduced to a 35% rebate on June 1st. However if you open or upgrade to a Business Platinum card by 5/31/17 or if you have opened or upgraded to aĀ  Business Platinum card since 10/1/16 you will get a full year of 50% rebates from the date your card was opened or upgraded.

AĀ $42.80Ā flight will be 4,280 points and you would get a 50% rebate making the effective cost just 2,140 points, a value of 2 cents per point.Ā That includes all taxes and you can still earn miles for flying!

 


Using Chase points:

If you have aĀ Chase Sapphire ReserveĀ®Ā card you can redeem points for 1.5 cents each towards travel.

AĀ $42.80Ā flight flight will be 2,853 points. That includes all taxes and you can still earn miles for flying!
