About This Site’s Precursor-Ctownbochur.com:

I founded Ctownbochur.com on November 26, 2004 (Which just happened to coincide with my 20th birthday)

It was intended to be a simple site for a few friends that I would update occasionally.  However after word of mouth traffic rapidly grew the user base, updating the site became a daily routine for me.

While the site’s target market and majority of hits do come from Religious Jews, such as myself, it became obvious that the site was expanding past those demographics.

As such I bought the name to this site at an auction, Dansdeals.com, to appeal to a greater segment of people.

Ctownbochur.com and Ctowndeals.com will continue to forward to Dansdeals.com for years to come.

About Me:

I’m a 22 year old Bochur (hebrew for bachelor) from Ctown (Cleveland, OH)

In 2006 I received Smicha (Rabbinical Ordination) and my BA at the West Coast Talmudical Seminary in Los Angeles, CA.

Currently I am in my 2nd year of graduate school, just trying to maintain my 4.0 grade point average. I am studying for my MBA (Master of Business Administration) at a private university in Cleveland, Ohio.People often ask me how I got into finding bargains, so here’s a short background.

I have always been into the buying and selling of goods. It probably can be traced back to my collecting and actually making money on baseball cards as a kid. When I was just 12 years old I was buying and selling beanie babies, often turning a $5 purchase into a $200 sale. In fact I was one of the pioneer sellers on Ebay even before my Bar-Mitzvah!

In 1998 I went to Pittsburgh for high school at the age of 13, but would still occasionally sneak out(with an adult’s help) at 3AM in the morning to go downtown and buy beanie babies for $5 a piece which I would be able to turn for a quick profit.

After graduating with a high-school diploma from Pittsburgh in 2001 I went to study in Los Angeles for 2 years. While there I got involved in the airline and cell phone business. I organized group travel rates for trips to NYC that saved fellow students a lot of money, while earning me tens of thousands of miles for the purchases on my credit card. I also opened a corporate account of 20 phone lines with Sprint, pooling together the buying power of a group of students to rent cell phones on a monthly basis from me. Sprint was kind enough to give me a Palm OS phone for opening the large account…

I spent a year studying in Crown Heights starting in 2003, during which time I became a Palm Phone moderator for pdaphone.com. Eventually Samsung, which at the time was the 500-pound gorilla in the Palm Phone market, took notice of some of my work. I was able to beta-test some really cool Palm Phones, such as the Samsung i550, which unfortunately was never released.

In 2004 I went down to Sao Paulo, Brazil on Shlichus, or volunteering for a hybrid of teaching and mentoring for younger students. The place where we stayed was always very tight on money. They had just moved into a new building and it needed a lot of fixing up. They never were able to fix the flooding that occurred all over my stuff whenever it rained. Additionally toilet paper was quite the rare commodity in our building. When I found a deal for free toilet paper online, the idea hit me-start a website where I could post things that interest me, and hopefully would interest some others as well.

The rest, as they say, is history!

I was wondering if you might have a Shirt from Hawaii that my 9 year old daughter might be able to borrow for Purim. I didnt’t know where else to look and I thought you might have one from your trips to Hawaii.
